Chariot: a dark comedy filming at indycube Swansea

'Chariot' saw some wickedly funny corruption caught on tape at indycube Swansea this week

We were really pleased to be able to support local film again this week when Chariot film made use of our Swansea space after raising close to a whopping 10k through a crowdfunding campaign.

The team described the timely Chariot as a 'A wickedly funny movie about a corrupt politician who will stop at nothing to win a local election'. Filmed documentary-style with a small crew and the help of the local community in Swansea, (that's us!) the film is a response to the rise of the "Winner Takes All" culture over the last 30 years. It explores this by looking at the actions of one man, and his effect on a small community in post-Brexit UK.

Writer Rob Surman was able to put the project together around a stellar cast, including Darren Evans, aka Danny Two-Hats from Channel 4's hit TV series My Mad Fat Diary. Similarly to indycube, Rob was keen to maintain full creative control over the project, and turned to crowd funding platform Indiegogo in order to avoid having to ask for anything from the government or other corporate sources.

You can still support Chariot by heading over to their Indiegogo page.
